How to Apply to the College Student Development Master's Degree Program
To apply for the Master of Arts in College Student Development, students must have a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and complete the following:
- Required interview with faculty member
- Three outstanding letters of recommendation. It is preferred that one of the letters of recommendation be from a faculty member.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 hours of undergraduate work and official GRE scores* from ETS OR cumulative GPA or last 60 hours below 3.0 but above 2.7 and official GRE Verbal plus Quantitative score of 800.
- Completed questionnaire developed by the Department of Human Development and Psychological Counseling.
- In addition, students will apply to participate in the Graduate Assistantship Preview Program (G.A.P.P.). Qualified applicants will be invited to campus in February 2010 to interview with faculty and for graduate assistantships. Priority will be given to candidates whose completed application have arrived by Friday January 15, 2010. Apply for the Graduate Assistantship in the Division of Student Development at www.assistantships.appstate.edu
*There can by up to a six week delay in ETS reporting GRE scores to the Graduate School. For full consideration, plan to take the GRE, no later than December 1, 2009.
